TRILLIUM SCHOOL

Founded in 1991, Trillium School is an established, co-educational independent school serving students from toddlers to Grade 12s. Located in Markham, Ontario, our school is committed to developing the whole child through a balanced approach to education. Strong academics and high expectations are complemented by a comprehensive extracurricular program that offers students a range of athletic, artistic, social and life experiences.

Strong character and active citizenship are integral to the school program and are continuously modeled by our team of professional, caring educators. Trillium has always boasted a supportive, family-like atmosphere where students feel at ease and truly enjoy the whole school experience. Following graduation, alumni return to the school regularly to help out in a variety of volunteer roles, attesting to the bonds forged over the years.

Our 32,000-square-foot facility features a full-sized gymnasium, an up-to-date technology lab, a fully-equipped science lab, a music room, a library, and a fully-contained schoolyard equipped with permanent play structures.

Trillium is an independent, non-denominational school registered with the Ontario Ministry of Education. We are a member of the Ontario Federation of Independent Schools.

Facilities and equipment at Trillium School

The light and airy 32,000 square feet building was custom built in 1996.

The school infrastructure:

  • Full size gym;

  • Computer lab;

  • Scientific laboratory;

  • Library;

  • Playroom for kindergarten;

  • Specially designed lockers for students' personal belongings;

  • Storage space for outdoor gear.

The school is located on a plot of 3 acres. The schoolyard has a large playing field, an extensive asphalt area, and play areas for young children. For security purposes, the entire schoolyard is fenced in with a 6-foot high metal fence.

Trillium students have direct access to Milliken Mills Park, which borders the schoolyard to the south. The park has baseball, and soccer fields, playgrounds and a mini water park. Schoolchildren regularly visit the park for sports, games, and sledding.

The school is in close proximity to the Milliken Mills Community Center, which has a public library and swimming pool.
